NASO : Native American Student Organization
at the University of Pittsburgh

 

Goals:

-to present a balanced and accurate portrayal of contemporary Native America and its people,

-to provide a good atmosphere which will encourage Native American students at the University of Pittsburgh to join NASO and participate in the activities,

-to provide activities that educate the University community on such topics as:
   1. Reservation Life

   2. Urban Native Organizations
   3. Powwows
   4. Current Native movies, musical performances, lectures, etc.
   5. Joint ventures with local Native organizations

We will take part in University student activities and hope to provide enrichment through the use of guest speakers and performers. We will bring in guest lecturers based on suggestions of members and vote of the majority of the membership.

Meetings:

Meetings will take place the second Thursday of every month at 7pm in Cup and Chaucer. Cup and Chaucer is located on the ground floor of Hillman Library.
